Many regional communities are affected by flooding. It is important to ensure that critical Infrastructure such as Water Treatment Plants are protected from inundation so that the Community can remove after floodwaters recede.

Protecting Critical Assets.

 

 Our Client is responsible for the supply of potable water to approximately 73,000 customers from a site located on the left bank of the Murrumbidgee River floodplain . The site contains the main Water Treatment facilities , a supply depot and an administrative centre. The site has a long flood history due to its proximity to the Murrumbidgee River. A number of flood studies were undertaken to investigate options to improve the flood security and ensure the ability to maintain operations during more significant flood events.

This Project was for the construction of Flood Levee Upgrade Works to provide protection for the site during future flood events with an Annual Excellence Probability (AEP) of 1%. It has provided improved flood security Site and improve the security of the water supply to customers during future flood events.

Our People performed the role of the Client's Project Manager for the design and construction of the Project. Responsibilities included; procurement strategy development, tendering, technical direction, financial management and contract payments as well as managing relationships with Government and Corporate Stakeholders.
